Photo Safari’s

September 30th, 2006

Danny and I have begun getting out for some mini photo safari’s of late. I have even gone on a few on my own!

Now that the weather has cooled, and the cold fronts of Autumn are bringing in crisp, clear air, with brilliant blue skies. The shadows are long and the morning light has been great!

Downtown Huntsville has many hidden treasures that afford great images and vistas. Some of the historic buildings allow interesting angles that present a view that you might not have seen in your mind’s eye.

Everyone sees things in very different ways. Some see a scene as I refer to it; in a “Just the Facts” manner. Others can can play with the scene in a way that accentuates the colors and shapes. And, some can bring out the colors, shapes, and shadow, and create a work of photographic art.

Photography, digital or film, is not just going out and clicking a shutter. It is also the time and energy spent in both the conventional and digital darkroom! Together, a work of art is both envisioned and made a reality.

Tomorrow, we will try again with another Photo Safari. I have some interesting architectural photographs that I will upload tomorrow!
